DFARS Updates Impose Tighter Counterfeit Mitigation Requirements

The U.S Department of Defense updated DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) on August 2nd with new requirements which basically hold defense contractors responsible for all the risk associated with counterfeit or defective electronic parts. According to this DoD update, defense contractors must acquire electronic parts/assemblies that are no longer in stock with manufacturers from a supplier that meets industry standards for inspecting, testing and authenticating.

Lintech Components is an approved supplier of EEE devices for many of the world’s top mil/aero contractors in large part due to our ability to meet and exceed DFARS and other leading counterfeit mitigation standards. Key qualifications for using Lintech Components as a “contractor-approved supplier” include:

  • Inclusion on DLA Land and Maritime Qualified Suppliers List of Distributors (QSLD) and Qualified Testing Suppliers List (QTSL)
  • All IDEA-ICE-3000-certified quality inspectors
  • Advanced authenticity inspection and electrical testing performed by an affiliated ISO 17025 and DLA QTSL lab for MIL-STD-750, -883 and -202 and testing of FSC5961/5962 components
  • Quality Management System certified to comply with ISO 9001:2008 + AS9120A
